Local Media Outlet Plans Local Election Campaign
Sliding through our door on a weekly basis comes the
county advertising edition of the Bellingham Herald. Chock full of ads and
coupons. Advertising revenue is cake, you know. Slathered with an icing of happy
do good stories, Whatcom County eats up, smacks their lips, and goes to bed,
thinking that kindergartens and and raspberry harvests are the definition of
Whatcom County.

An open letter to my fellow citizens of Whatcom County:
In reviewing Public Disclosure Commission (PDC) reports, sometimes I
notice minor discrepancies and give them little thought. In early July,
however, I was quite taken aback when looking at campaign finance
reports filed by Ken Mann, candidate for re-election to the Whatcom
County Council.

Trifling Herald Article Misrepresents Port Commissioner Debate
BELLINGHAM - All four Port of Bellingham commissioner
candidates have told airport neighbors they are willing to consider cash
compensation for noise impacts on their property values.
At a
Tuesday, Aug. 27, forum at Shuksan Middle School, attended by about 100
people, several of those present complained that jet noise from an
increasingly busy Bellingham International Airport was reducing the
value of their homes.
